Spring Jams 2010

Hello again to all those Jamalicous,

Please help us support two wonderful charities here in the month of April.

On April 23rd Jam Straight will back Gina Nappi in her rocker lead singing debut to support her high school club, Future Business Leaders of America. Doors at Westwood High School will open at 6:30PM. Music starts at 7PM and will include performances by 5 different bands. Tickets will be available at the door for $15 and all proceeds will go to help fight juvenile diabetes.

Next up, on April 30th, is a benefit for Shelter Our Sisters. This charity helps battered women and children leave lives of abuse and supports them in their struggle for new beginnings. Flutist extraordinaire, Elise Carter, will lead a classical first set and then join Jam Straight for a second set of classic rock covers and original compositions. This charity concert will take place at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 344 Washington Ave in Dumont, NJ from 7:30-10:30PM with a $10 suggested donation at the door.

May 1st we are back at Liberty's for another 10PM-2AM Jamarathon of classic rock covers and original Jams. Join us in Tappan, NY for another night stuffed full of music and merriment. Proceeds will be deposited into the Jam Straight coffer so we can continue to bring you the kick ass, unadulterated, non-corporate rock and roll you've grown accustomed to getting from north Jersey's best kept rock and roll secret.

Hope to see some a you's at these shows! Thanks so much for your support! Love,

The Planets Are Aligning.......

Marmaladies and Jamsters,

The Jam Straightusphere is growing all around us. Recently we expanded from a power trio to a superpower quartet with the addition of long-time friend and guitarist Mike Marvin. With special guests Chris Reed (sax) and Elise Carter (flute) continuing to excite audiences with their Jamalicious skills, Mike shall become the fourth wonder of the Jam Straight universe.

We are also honored to announce Jam Straight is under new management. James "Jamboy" Boyer has signed on as our intergalactic captain bringing his years of music biz experience to the table. While our Jam jar has always been full of ideas Jim is here to help us explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no Jam has gone before.

While introducing new members to our quest for all things Jamesque is quite exciting for us, we also have the pleasure of announcing some new venues that will be stocking our homemade brand of Jam. First up is Assembly Steak House in Englewood Cliffs (www.assemblysteakhouse.com). Our debut will take place Thursday, August 27th on their outdoor patio (weather permitting) between the hours of 6PM and 10PM. Please help us congratulate Jenn @ Assembly who, on August 15th, married the one, and only, legendary Leslie West!!!!

Last, but certainly not least, is a blockbuster date at Liberty's American Bar & Grill in Tappan, NY (www.LibertysBar.com). Formerly Bishops and the Celtic Pub, this club has a long history of hosting great local bands and promoting good music while drawing big, fun-loving crowds. Saturday, Sept. 19th will be a huge night for the owner (Alan) who will be celebrating the one-year anniversary of his grand opening. Along with dinner and drink specials the tri-state area's best kept rock and roll secret will be laying down the grooves with the Jammitude that only we possess.

For those of you lucky enough to be in the know, we'll see you Labor Day Weekend at the 5th annual Nappipalooza. For the rest, we hope to see you at one of these upcoming events so you won't miss out on the ever-evolving universe that is Jam Straight.

Summertime's Here!!!!!

Hey all you June Jambugs!

Come on down to Jose O'Reilly's this Saturday night for some delicious Irish/Mexican cuisine. Jam Straight will be joined by Chris Reed on sax and Mike Marvin on guitar for some rockin', non-corporate excursions. We'll be mixing and bottling loads of jam in the studio this summer and Jose's may be your only chance to catch up with North Jersey's best kept rock and roll secret before September. By then, we may be a secret no longer. Hope to see you's........

April Showers Bring May Jams

Hey Jambinos,

We've got three shows coming up in the next couple of weeks. May 2 (Sat) we're back at our ole' stomping ground Jose O'Reilly's in Norwood. Jerry has some out-of-towners coming in for his Mom's b-day bash so it should be a rocking fun time. The following Friday (May 8th) we're back at Elmwood Park's BLVD Bar & Grill. Chris (sax) and Elise (flute) make for some delicious twists on some classic jams.

Saturday (May 9) is a special show in the name of charity. We will join Elise for a benefit concert at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dumont. Elise and her sister Amy (piano) will start things off with a set of classical music. Next, Jam Straight will join Elise for a set of rock. Tickets are being sold for a "suggested" donation of $10 ($5 for kids & seniors). All proceeds will go to Shelter Our Sisters women’s shelter and all audience members are asked to bring a can of food for the Dumont food pantry. Show time is set for 3PM. Please come out and show your support for this great cause while we treat you to some grade A jams.

Summertime's here! Let's get dancing!
